I've found a static but the website doesn't have a record for this system or it is wrong. How do I add/update the static?

The staticmapper database is entirely populated by user contributions. To become a contributer to the database, simply trust the site in the IGB with this link and below the header graphic will be an option called "Add Visit to Database".
Clicking this option will take you to the data entry screen where you can enter the found static type and any other information useful for exploring.

Why do I have to trust the site to use it?

Many of the search functions on the site can be used without it being trusted. Trust allows the site to identify who you are and where you are and be able to give you customized views relevant to your location.
Other features include :
  • Being able to add records to the database
  • Creating a sigmap to keep track of what's in your system
  • Ability to share or view shared sigmaps last scans from corp members
  • A clearer idea of enemy and freindly systems in the regional view
  • Customize colours of headers to match your own UI settings

How do I add my standings to the regional view?

There are 3 ways you can set standings on the website once it's been trusted int he IGB.

The first 2 can be done in the options part of the site (right hand colum below the header graphic) but require that you are a CEO or have relevant permissions in the corp.
Using your full access API, you can enter those details into the form which will interigate the eve API and set them up in the regional view for you.
No details are saved however so you're API will remain secret.
If you're not happy about inserting your full API into the site, you can use various other API test sites to get the relevant information.
With the resulting XML document the site gives you, copy it and paste it into the Standings from XML option. Clicking save will insert them into the database.
< These settings will effect everyone in the corp as they are corp based standings and do not take into account personal standings.

The third option is to click on the flags next to the alliance name and manually enter the settings there. These settings will take precidence over any corp based standings anyone else uploads.

Why are some systems red in regional view but I haven't trusted the site

Sovereignty changes are collected on an hourly basis. If there has been a change in that time the indicated system is highlighted bright red so you can see if there are any active campaigns, wars, evictions currently going on in the eve empire

What's a sigmap?

Unlike empire systems, W space does not have asteroid belts or easilly warp to stargates to go somewhere else. Everything needs to be scanned down using scan probes.

Every signature found has a 7 digit alphanumeric registration code (eg XFD-124). These registration codes change every downtime but the sites remain where they are so the sigmap is a good way of keeping track what's in a system. Even if you don't update the registration codes every day, you will still be able to view at a glance how many sites there are and of what type.

These sigmaps when entered are available to everyone in your corporation who is using the site and has a 15 second timer refresh option so teams can update a system seeing their team mates progress in real time.

What is a Jumpbridge Map?

Anyone who's lived in Nullsec knows of a jumpbridge.  They're part of the glue that hold an empire together, enables journeys that may take 15, 20 or more jumps to be done in a single bounce and they can be the thing that brings the same empire to it's knees if not looked after.

A Jumpbridge map allows alliances to keep track of what systems are connected to where and are usually large JPG images uploaded to a public server where anyone with a net connection can access them.

Staticmapper now allow you to create an interactive map that you can keep private or share amongs a select number of people or whole alliances if you wish.

Access is proteced with the API which you setup in the options and a password so headers can't be spoofed to gain access, you'd need the whole shebang.

I forgot my password for the API. How do I change it

The password is used to encrypt and lock your API details.  There is no password retrieval facility because the password is not actually stored on the server.  Instead, if you forget your password, simply re-enter your API key and userid with a new password and it will overwrite the old ones giving you access again.
